This website used to have a facility to aggregate all of my activity across various Web 2.0 sites. A page was created for each tweet, each tracked logged on last.fm and each delicious bookmark. In the end this facility was swicthed off as I felt it wasn't really adding anything useful to the site. However out of the thousands of pages that got created in this way a few attracted comments, and they are archived here.

Re: Just put the "Slatedroid Mercury Speed Edition ...
Just re-flashed my m001 today, boot time seems slower but pad is much more responsive once running and most things seem to work okay. One bug so far, in landscape mode the slide out menu works; but if you change to portrait mode the slide out menu longer functions.

3 SIMs now work after 15 Jan 2010 firmware release
I had the same problem with my 3 SIM. Upgrading the firmware fixed it. 3 was running ahead of the game with a slightly incompatible SIM, and Nokia had to add code to make it work.

Re: Announcing Dread Moon Linux / Andromeda
I am positive
When you go to http://www.dreadmoon.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&view=category&id=... and click on the link it is NOT an 1.4GB ISO image. Is a Windows application. You may have though it is an ISO image, but what you download is this file:
DreadMoon_Andromeda_x86.iso-downloader.exe
You may have though that it was an ISO, because that is what you, and everybody espects it to be; but is not. Try it, and you'll see.
Then, you have to install this application in your system to download the ISO.
I posted the same comment at Distrowatch.com, which used to be a nice Linux site but since some years ago they have become extremely arrogant and moron. I know people responsible for some Linux and BSD distros, that say they have many problems with Ladislav, the guy from Distrowatch. Also, some people in the last FOSDEM in Brussels were critizicing hardly the attitude of Distrowatch and Ladislav, as disrespectful and arrogant. I can now confirm that is true.
A guy answered my coment saying something like "so what whit it?; and insulting me". Then, I answered that guy, with new explanations about my concerns, and added some content similar to what that guy have called me; and suddenly my post was deleted. I posted it again, but excluding any bad term in my post, and it was deleted again; and I was banned from conneting to the website. LOL
I guess there are MONEY interest behind all that. Ladislav for instance accepts including inmediatly New Distros in the list, if the pay money, or if they stablish a publicity contract with him. For the rest of the Distros, those that do not pay, the Distros await for one year before being included.
This is not FUD, he even reconigsed that in some interviews. But, is sad that one of the most known websites about Linux and Free Libre open source software, gets so low in some aspects.
Money and ethics are not good friends, apparently. Pass the word if you are conderned about Linux and FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software), because people have to be informed of the truth.
Thanks
ANYONE HAVE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT Dread Moon Linux 'Andromeda'?
ANYONE HAVE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT Dread Moon Linux ???
DOES ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT Dread Moon Linux ???
Dread Moon Linux, a new Linux Distro, a remix of Ubuntu 9.04, seems an interesting idea. A Distro dedicated to games programming, and multimedia. But some things are weird in it, and in its WebSite. Knowing the amonunt of extrange things that happen in the Internet, the Websites and applications that install malware, rookits, spyware, virus etc, im a bit suspicious...
FIRST of all is the fact that, to download the distro they force you to donload first a Microsoft Windows application (an .exe file) that you have to install in your PC, in Windows. Then you download the distro trough that application that is apparentenly using a torrent.
Why to use a Windows executable that have to be installed in your PC to download a Distro???
Why not to put the distro to download in a torrent site like Linuxtracker, for instance, or another???
Why not to download the torrent directly and let the user user its own torrent client???
If they want to save bandwidth, why no to put it in one of the Free hosting sites so popular nowadays???
Another thing: not even one reference to the licence or the source code of the distribution. where is the source code, and how to obtain it if anyone is interested (I know, I could maybe ask them for it, but still...) ???
I have a strange feeling. All seems very weird and obscure. So, maybe someone have references about the 'Dread Moon Linux' Distro that can be usefull for all, in order to try, download, and trust this distro or not.
Anyway, it seems that the lack of transparency and clear and open information, and compulsatory use of a Windows application to obtain the Distro have not much to do with the way in wich 'Free Libre Open Source Software' and 'Linux' were created, and how they work. And NO, I don't 'want-need to-know if' Wine would work for that Windows executable file that they force you to install to obtain the distro.
Not to say about the imposibility to get the Distro in a 'normal' way is harming the potential use of this distro by Mac OSX, Linux, BSD, Solaris, MorphOS, Amiga, Syllable, Menuet etc users.
Re: ANYONE HAVE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT Dread Moon Linux ...
Are you sure? When I go to http://www.dreadmoon.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&view=category&id=... and click on the link it looks to be an 1.4GB ISO image, no mention of a Windows application. It could be better explained on the download page, but it looks like they just want people to BitTorrent it to save their bandwidth which is understandable.

Re: I've upgraded the ZTE MF627 config package, now ...
Hi I currently have the ZTE MF627 Dongle from "3" and have been unable to use it on Ubuntu up till now. I'm afraid even your excellent work did not make any difference. However I made one more effort and visited the "3" website to find they are in the process of upgrading the software for this device (all OS's but not apparently for Ubuntu). Some have already been released but not yet for Vista. But there is an additional piece of info on the same page stating one can download an install system if the upgrade does not work. I duly downloaded and installed this (using Windows) on my dongle, "ejected" the USB and the booted into Ubuntu. I "added" the new dongle via the Network Manager and lo and behold IT WORKED!!
Hope this helps.

Until they do, here's a fairly painless way to install Boxee on Ubuntu 9.10
Good news on the 3 MiFi front, sounds like you'll be able to log into it on a browser and configure it - good news for Linux use

Hi John, I understand that the MiFi will get new firmware early next year which will enable the device to be configured over the web rather than having to use the Windoews-specific client. I asked about this in a feedback session with 3 after trying out the device, the details are here: http://www.3mobilebuzz.com/2009/10/06/3mobilebuzz-hosts-mifi-feedback-se...
Re: Good news on the 3 MiFi front, sounds like you'll be ...
Liam, I note you have a few blog entries re. using a MifI with Linux
I bougth one on Friday, and it worked as an access point first time with Fedora running on a netbook.
My peeve is that I plugged it into a laptop today at work, which is running Windows XP 64 bit, and installed the 3 management software. Doesn;t seem to recognise the device. I am expecting a text from 3, as I registered the number on their my3 site.
Anyone else know what the OS restrictions on this 3 manager software are?
It would be much preferable to me and I guess many other people if you could manage it from Linux (or indeed an OS-agnostic interface - ie a web interface or an ssh session. But I guess asking for a text based interface is too much for the mass market).
Anyway, any word on the web interface is welcome - and I will start to scream if you have to use the Windows software to enable this...

Re: Problems with RTL8192E
Problems with the RTL8192E also on my Samsung N510. I hope we will get the drivers working soon - the same problem was on 10.04 and 10.10 too, and IMO ndiswrapper + window$ driver is not an option that should be accepted by the expanding Ubuntu community with the brilliant operating system that is on the edge of being truly competitive to other OS'es.
